RAGBRAI
For most Iowans, RAGBRAI (the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) is a fantastic excuse to meet some new friends, enjoy our beautiful state, and revel in one of Iowa’s biggest parties. But for One Body One Hope, the cause for celebration had an international flair.
This year, RAGBRAI began in Sioux Center, the town that OBOH calls home. And we weren’t about to miss out on such a great opportunity! On Saturday, July 21, One Body board members, supporters, and friends took to the streets of Sioux Center on two fully loaded Gators to sell water to RAGBRAI riders and visitors. As nearly 20,000 people flooded into Sioux Center, we were on hand with ice cold water and business cards that explained a bit about our ministry. It was great to connect with so many people from so many places--and especially to get the chance to share with them about our passion for the people of Liberia.
OBOH raised just over $3,000 at the RAGBRAI event, but we hope that the ripple effect continues. May God use the conversations, and the cold cup of water that we extended that day in ways that glorify his work and his kingdom. Thanks be to God!
